Penn Yan, March 19. - Mrs. Celestia Pepper, of Jerusalem, widow of the late James Pepper, died at 3 o'clock this morning at the home of J. Wallace Eveland, in Milo. Three weeks ago she went to the Eveland home for a visit. Soon after she became ill and could not rally.
She was 80 years old, and leaves one daughter, Mrs. Elwin Finger of Bluff Point, with whom she made her home and who upon hearing of her illness went to the Eveland home and remained with her mother to the end.
The funeral will be held from Dugan Schmoker's Undertaking rooms at 10:30 tomorrow morning. Interment will be made in Lake View cemetery. - Rochester Democrat and Chronicle March 20, 1917
