Found him on the 1930 Potter, Yates, New York census (dist 16 img 11) as Donald Tears age 8 months.

Donald, the six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tears, narrowly escaped serious injury Friday evening when he was struck by a car and thrown to the concrete when crossing the road. He received numerous bruises, but is able to be around as usual. - Geneva Daily Times April 6, 1936
