Raymond George Morris, 68, a lifelong LaGrange resident, died Friday, April 22 at St. Francis Hospital, Town of Poughkeepsie. Mr. Morris had been a manager of the cost-estimating division of IBM Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, the Stoney Clove Rod & Gun Club in Lanesville, a charter member of the Overlook Rod & Gun Club, and a member of Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was born July 22, 1919, in Bangall, to Frederick and Emma Finger Morris. He was a graduate of the former Poughkeepsie Trade School.
On July 23, 1949, in Poughkeepsie, he married Audrey Walker, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Brian L. Morris of LaGrange, and Todd R. Morris of Millbrook three brothers, Robert L. Morris and Frederick T. Morris, both of Poughkeepsie, and Edward Morris of Fairhaven, Vt., and a grandson. A brother, David Morris, and a sister, Edith Morris, predeceased him.
