Viola Chamberlain age 7.
Miss Viola Marie Chamberlain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Chamberlain of 145 Ontario Street, Cohoes, today became the bride of Harold George Marsolais, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Marsolais of 10 High Street, Green Island.
The wedding took place at Sacred Heart Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Raymond Robert, pastor, performed the ceremony. The bridegroom's cousin, Miss Evelyn J. Marsolais, was maid of honor. Mr. Marsolais had as his best man the bride's brother, Ernest E. Chamberlain.
Attired in a white taffeta gown with train and finger-tip veil caught with a heart-shaped cap, the bride carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley. Her attendant wore a gown of Spanish raisin taffeta with short veil and tiara of flowers. She had matching accessories and carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses.
During the ceremony a program of nuptial music was presented with a solo, 'Ave Maria,' being given by Mrs. Austin V. Gagnon. Following the church service, a reception for about 100 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. The Chamberlain home was decorated in pink and white, with large wedding bells. Receiving with the bridal party were Mrs. Chamberlain, attired in navy blue, and Mrs. Marsolais, who wore a brown ensemble. Both had corsages of roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Marsolais left for a wedding trip to New York City after the reception. The bride was attired in a powder blue dress, black accessories and a black coat trimmed with squirrel. Upon their return they will live at 212 Twenty-fifth Street, Watervliet, where the bridegroom is employed by the Behr-Mannlng Corp. Out-of-town guests from Hartford, Conn., Amsterdam and Niagara Falls attended the wedding. - The Times Record February 8, 1941
