Found her on the 1875 Rhinebeck, Dutchess, New York state census (E.D.01 img 3) as Agnes Rickert age 8. Found her on the 1930 Rhinebeck, Dutchess, New York census (dist 80 img 23) as Agnes Closs age 62.

Mrs. Alice Sharpe, wife of Mansion Sharpe, and Mrs. Agnes Closs, widow of Jacob Closs, Rhinebeck's oldest twin sisters and believed to be the oldest set of twins in Dutchess county, observed their 73rd birthday anniversary May 11, Roland Sharpe, son of Mrs. Sharpe, said today. - Poughkeepsie Evening Star and Enterprise May, 1940

Mrs. Agnes Rikert Closs, wife of the late Jacob Christian Closs and a resident of the town of Rhinebeck most of her life, died Friday night in the Northern Dutchess Health Center. She had resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Coon of Upper Red Hook for the past two and one half years.

She was a twin sister of Mrs. Manson Sharp of Rhinebeck, who died in 1946 and she was 84 years old.

Mrs. Closs was born in the town of Rhinebeck on May 11, 1867, a daughter of Stephen A. and Mary Ellen Dedrick Rikert. Her husband died in 1930 and one son, Warren, died in 1949.

An active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Wurtemburg, Mrs. Closs was a life member of its Women's Missionary Society and a member of its Ladies Aid Society. She had been active in sewing for the Northern Dutchess Health Center here and did considerable sewing for the American Red Cross during World Wars I and II.

Surviving are a son, Wesley J. Closs of this village a daughter, Mrs. Harold Coon of Red Hook, two grandsons, Donald J. and Robert W. Closs of Rhinebeck three great grandchildren a brother, Norman W. Rikert of Oliverea, N. Y., and several nieces and nephews.

Family prayers were offered at the Burnett and Rockefeller Funeral Home in Red Hook at 1:45 p. m Monday. Funeral services were conducted in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Wurtemburg at 2:30 p. m. Monday by the Rev. Herbert Finch, Pastor. The Rhinebeck Gazette March 13, 1952
