The 70th annual reunion of the descendants of
Consider Law was held on July 4 at the Paris Hill Congregational Church with over ninety in attendance... There are very few of the descendants now living who bear the name of Law.
Consider Law, a Revolutionary patriot, was the father of six daughters and two sons and the sons' children were mostly daughters. This accounts for the scarcity of the surname Law among his posterity... -

William C. Law, 87, of Bartlett, died Aug. 4, 1958, in Rome Hospital shortly after admission. Mr. Law had been a member of the Town of Westmoreland Board of Assessors since 1941.
He was born in Dix on June 3, 1871, son of William C. and Sarah Knapp Law. He was a graduate of the original Rome Free Academy and attended Colgate Academy for a year before he began to teach. He taught in the town of Westmoreland for 38 years, retiring in 1941, and before that in the Robson District 10 years; Quaker, six years; Dix, five years; Lowell, four years, and Morrison, one year.
Mr. Law had been a member of the Bartlett Baptist Church since 1885 and a member of its Board of Deacons since 1890. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Hampton Lodge, F&AM, Westmoreland and Westmoreland Grange.
On July 31, 1902, Mr. Law married Charlotte E. Reese in Westmoreland. She died in April, 1911. In 1917 he married Lulu Crawford. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Erwin L. Coons of Montpelier, Vt., a son, William O. Law of Bartlett six grandchildren four great grandchildren his wife in St. Joseph, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Bartlett Baptist Church. Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery. Friends may call today and tomorrow at the home of his son, Oscar Law, Bartlett, at their convenience. - Daily Press August 5, 1958
