Cherie Schiffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schiffer of Wassaic, was a recent graduate of the State University at Cortland. Cherie, a 1973 graduate of Webutuck Central School majore d in sociology. While attending college, Cherie was named to the Dean's list and also became a member of The New York Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, the national sociological honor society. To obtain this honor she had to complete ten semesters in sociology with an average of B or better and a cumulative average which falls in the upper 35% of her class. She is presently employed for the summer at the Wassaic Developmental Center, but has applications in for positions in other agencies with plans of returning to college later to obtain a master's degree. - The Harlem Valley Times June 23, 1977
