Grace Lucille Finger, 95, of 5058 County Line, Oconto went to be with her Lord on July 3, 2011. She passed away at Rennes Health Center West in Peshtigo.
Grace was born in Manitowoc, Wis. on October 10, 1915, to the late Jerome and Josephine Reif. The family moved to Saukville, Wis. where Grace attended grade school. The family moved to the Peshtigo area in 1930 and her parents operated a cheese factory called J.L. Reif & Sons. Grace graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1933 and married Ervin Finger on March 23, 1935.
Grace and Ervin owned and operated the family farm in the County Line area. Ervin preceded her in death on June 2, 2003. They had spent 23 winters at Boynton Beach, Fla. Grace was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Peshtigo. She was involved in many community activities through her years including the County Line Grange Homemakers, Bridge Clubs and The Red Hats. She directed plays for 4-H Club that was three times state winners. She started a perennial plant sale that still continues. Grace was an avid gardener with large flower gardens, vegetable gardens and berries. She will always be remembered for her love of people, friends neighbors and the Green Bay Packers. She loved spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her new great-great-grandchild. Grace will also be remembered for her love of playing cards and games with her family.
Grace is survived by a daughter, Carol (Howard) Murphy of Peshtigo three sons: Jerry (Laurie) Finger of Hortonville, Jack (Nancy) Finger of County Line and Dan (Judy) Finger of Mosinee 13 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren one great-great-grandchild two sisters-in-law: Jean and Doris Reif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin a granddaughter, Patti Fritz four brothers: Arnold, Vernal, Jerry and Melvin Reif two sisters-in-law: Gladys Reif and Hazel Reif.
