Bath, June 10 - Miss
Clara Finger has been transferred from the soldiers' home at Dayton, Ohio, to become head nurse in the hospital of the national soldiers' home at Bath. Miss Finger is a native of Olean, and a graduate of the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. For a time she was connected with the staff of the soldiers' home in Johnson City, Tenn., and for some time past, a nurse in the Dayton soldiers' home. -

Miss
Clara A. Finger of 130½ N. 15th St, Olean, died Sunday (May 19, 1974) at the Allegany Nursing Home, where she had resided since last Friday. Death followed a two-months' illness.
Born on June 25, 1884, in Erie, Pa., she was a daughter of
Emil and
Augusta Finger. The family moved to Olean when she was a
child. Miss Finger graduated from the Lutheran Nursing School, Fort Wayne, Ind., and entered the U.S. Government Service with the Veteran's Administration, serving at VA Hospitals in Bath, Johnson City, Tenn., and Milwaukee, Wis., as a registered nurse. After leaving Milwaukee, she returned to Olean and from 1947-52 was on the nursing staff at St. Francis Hospital, from where she retired.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and of its Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are a brother,
Albert G. Finger of Hornell; and a nephew. Friends may call at the Halwig Funeral Home, Inc., 117 Hamilton St., beginning Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted there Thursday (May 23,1974) at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald L. Bergen of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in
Allegany Cemetery. -
