Margaret Helen Borchert, 87, formerly of the Blooming Prairie area, died at Cedarview Care Center Tuesday, July 8, 2008.
She was born April 2, 1921, to Reinholt C. and Helen (Utecht) Finger in Owatonna. She received her education at country schools. She married Woodrow Borchert on Jan. 15, 1942, in Kasson. They made their home on a farm near Blooming Prairie.
In 1967, Margaret began her employment at Owatonna Tool Company in tool assembly where she worked until her retirement in 1982. Woodrow passed away in 1984. A very active member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie and Bixby Westside Homemakers Club, Margaret served as a 4-H adult leader. She loved sewing, making quilts, doing needlework, mowing her lawn and singing. She moved to Owatonna in January 2005 where she resided at Cedarview Care Center until her death.
Survivors include daughters, Vivian (Dale) Dulas, Morristown; LaVonne (David "Mike") Cammock, Medford; son, Alvin (Carol) Borchert, Owatonna; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Sandra) Finger, Joliet, Ill.; Rueben (Mary) Finger, Kasson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow; her parents; her sister; and four brothers.
