Norman and Marcella were divorced 19 May 1994
Norman David Willier, 82, of McComb, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior, at 11:59 a.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio.
Norm was born on June 19, 1931 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Norman J. and Florence (Cameron) Willier.
Norm married JoAnn Peterson and she preceded him in death on September 19, 1989. He later married Marcella Withers and they divorced. He then married Elaine (Ulrich) Sammet on October 1, 1997 and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Terri Jo (Dave) Coffman of McComb, Ohio, a grandson Chad (Rachael) Redman of Findlay, that Norm raised as a son, a daughter, Abigail K. Willier of McComb, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three stepsons, Robert L. (Lorraine) Sammet of Findlay, James R. (Jenny) Sammet of Fostoria, Jonathan P. Sammet of McComb, and a brother, Roger (Parthena) Willier of Crossville, Tennessee.
Norm was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Withers, a brother Troy Willier and a sister, Donna Reeder.
Norm was employed by the City of Findlay for over 36 years, first as a police officer, then in engineering and retired as superintendent of the traffic department. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War and was a member of the Korean War Veterans, Military Order of Purple Heart, Life Member of Ralph D. Cole Post # 3 American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as a V.A. Commissioner of Hancock County for 13 years. Norm was named the Hancock County Veteran of Year in 2001. He was also a member of CornerStone Baptist Church.
