After a chase of over 3,000 miles, Thomas Fingar, a former resident of Madalin, overtook his wife at Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Fingar who was formerly Miss Anna Fraleigh of Madalin and was considered the prettiest girl in the neighborhood. Shortly after their marriage the couple began to disagree and before long they had sold their farm and furniture and moved to Yonkers.
At Yonkers William Martin of Madalin met them and was taken in to board. He soon became infatuated with the woman. Upon learning this, Fingar ordered Martin from the house. He left, but so did Mrs. Fingar.
Fingar then began a chase that lasted until finally he located the elopers in Houston. There their arrest followed. Poughkeepsie Daily Eagle August 17, 1912
