Emiline Finger age 34.
Died, in Benton, Sept. 15, 1879, Emeline Hainer, wife of Norton Finger aged 44 years, 11 months, 8 days. She was born in Columbia county but spent the greater part of her life in Yates county.
She leaves a husband, one son and five daughters to deeply mourn her loss.
She joined the M. E. Church, at Benton Center in 1860, and remained a member until God called her from her earthly care. As a wife and mother she was tender and true and worthy of the respect in which she was held, not only by her own family, but by all who knew her. She possessed a warm, sympathetic nature which ever responded by word and deed to the woes and wants of others. There are many who will miss her kindly words of cheer and her substantial aid in the hour of their need.
She has a surviving mother residing in Michigan, aged seveuty-five years. She leaves three sisters and five brothers to mourn her untimely death. Her funeral was attended at her residence, Rev. Mr. Phillips officiating. - The Penn Yan Express October 8, 1879
