Warren Lloyd Fingar of Schenectady was born in Germantown on October 14th, 1890. Peter Fingar, his father, is a resident of that town, but his mother passed away several years ago. He attended the Germantown district school and Albany Business College. Fingar left business college to take a position as an accountant. He was selected for army service by Local Board No. 4 of Schenectady, and on October 3rd, 1918, was initiated into military duty at Fort Slocum, where he was assigned to Quartermasters Corps, Chemical Warfare Service. Later he served at Camp Meigs and Cleveland, Ohio. On April 3rd, 1919, Private Fingar received his honorable discharge from service. - Columbia County in the World War J. B.
