Found him on the 1900 Lincolnton, Lincoln, North Carolina census (dist 111 img 4) as Henry E. Kistler age 36, single, living at home with his widowed mother. Foreman in cotton mill. For his mother it says owns cotton mill.
There is another Henry Kistler age 36, married, foreman in cotton mill living 2 dwellings away. Not sure how he is related, or if it's the same person.
