Sylvanus Finger was aroused from his slumber and discovered that a lamp that had been left burning had exploded, scattering the oil about the floor and was burning rapidly. Taking a shawl and blankets he smothered the flames with much difficulty. -

Sylvanus Fingar, 77, of 172 Aiden Avenue Albany, a visitor at the home of
Albert Crick's in Harlemville, died suddenly in that Hamlet Tuesday night. Mr. Fingar had been enjoying good health and with friends had motored to Philmont the night of his death. - Obituary
