According to word received by Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Covert of West Camp their son, P.F.C. Donald Covert, who was wounded in action May 9 in North Africa, has been awarded the Order of the Purple Heart. He has recovered and is serving with his company in Sicily. - The Kingston Daily Freeman August 18, 1943
Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Dorothy E. Mower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mower of Katsbaan to Donald F. Covert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Covert of West Camp. The ceremony was performed at the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, West Camp, Sunday afternoon, April 14. The Rev. LaRoy S. Deitrich, pastor, officiated. Mrs. Arthur Govianni, sister of the bridegroom was matron of honor, Mr. Govianni of New York City was beat man. The bride and bridegroom are former pupils of Saugerties High School.
