Theodore J. Blass passed away at his late home Tuesday night, February 13th at 11:45 o'clock after an illness of a year's duration. For the past year the deceased had been suffering with a kidney disorder and complications. He was born in Gallatin on Nov. 27, 1866, the son of the late Mary King and Abraham Blass. On November 28, Olive H. Parsons became his wife and they have two living sons, Leroy Blass of Ancram and Ward Blass of Poughkeepsie and one deceased, Harry Blass. Surviving besides his wife and two sons are one brother, Cyrus Plass of Silvernails, seven grand children, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The late Mr. Blass resided most of his life in Columbia County except for eleven years when he worked in Poughkeepsie. He was a farmer most of his life. He was a charter member of the Gallatinville I.O.O.F. Lodge and Orion ReDekah Lodge, in Ancram and a member of St. John's Lutheran church in Ancram. The funeral will be Friday, February 16th at 2 p. m. at St. John's Lutheran church in Ancram with the Rev. G. Oliver Sands officiating. Burial will be in Ancram Cemetery under direction of Peck and Peck. Bearers will be Charles Boice, Edgar Miers, Edward Simons, Harold Simons, Alfred Hawthorne and Lee Knickerbocker, all Odd Fellows.
