Rushville, April 20 - William L. Hobart, aged 72, died Friday night, April 17, at his home in Rushville after several months of gradually failing health. He was born in Penn Yan, September 4, 1869, a son of Chester and Emmaline Casey Hobart, and lived In Penn Yan until nineteen years of age.
In September, 1890, he married Amy Durham of Potter and they have since lived in this vicinity. Beginning housekeeping on the Hobart farm in Potter, they later lived on the Silvernail farm in Potter, the William C. Fisher farm in the town of Gorham, and the Lindsley farm in the town of Middlesex.
Ten years ago they retired from farming and bought the Powers place in Rushville where they since resided.
Mr. Hobart is survived by his wife, four sons, Ralph, Earl, John W., and William L. Jr., and one daughter, Mrs. Marion Derby, all of Rushville; four grandchildren, and one brother, Roy Hobart of Potter.
The funeral services, which were private, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the John W. Hobart funeral chapel, Rev. R. B. Brett, pastor of Rushville Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made at Rushville cemetery. The following neighbors and friends served as bearers: Henry Cote. Edward Hall, Earl Whitman, Charles H. Green, L. F. Pltzwater and A. N.
