Miss Gertrude J. BatcheIor and Fred U. Schmidt, both of this city, were married Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Culrary Episcopal Church Chapel by Rev. Dr. Coley, rector of the church. The wedding march from Lohengrin was played by Gordon Peters assisted on the violin. The groom was attended by Ernest Markis, while the bride was attended by her sister, Miss Irene Batchelor. After receiving the congratulations of their frlends, Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt left on a western trip, including Buffalo and Toledo, Ohio. The latter is the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. John Mohr. After their return they will be at home to their many friends at 1125 McQuade Ave. after Oct. 15. The bride received many useful presents including cut glass, silverware, crokery, aluminum and linen. - The Utica Observer September 17, 1920
