The marriage of Miss Lottie Auguste Hoffmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hermann Hoffmann of Cherry street, Farmingdale, to Petty Officer Walter George Finger, U. S. navy, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Glum of Mt. Vernon, took place Sunday, in St. Luke's Lutheran church, Farmingdale. Officiating at the ceremony at 4 p. m. was the Rev. Bernhard Botarer, pastor. A dinner and reception was held at the Sunrise Village. Bellmore, for 100 guests.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown made with white satin bodice, v-neckline, and pointed wristlength sleeves. The skirt with train was of alternate panels of satin and tulle. A crown of seed pearls held in place her fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, gladioli and fyptophila Miss Emmy Hoffmann was maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Miss Lily Finger, niece of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Raymond VanTassel, both of Farmingdale. Serving as best man was Allan Finger, brother of the bridegroom. Another brother, Frank Finger, acted as usher together with Carl Ehlers, John Grell, and Burtis Smith.
The bride graduated from Farmingdale High school. She is a Sunday school teacher at St. Luke's, and a member of the church choir where the bridegroom is choirmaster. Mr. Finger, who is stationed at Camp Peary, Va., attended Farmingdale High school, and is associated with the Central Electric company. After a trip the couple will go on to Virginia, where the bride will live near her husband until she returns in September to her parents' home, and resumes her work in the office of the Farmingdale High school.
