Mrs. E.F. Finger, mother of Sherman W. Finger, director of athletics at Cornell College, died last Friday morning at the residence of Mrs. Crofutt, where she had made her home for some time. Mrs. Finger had been an invalid for twenty years, for the last five years residing at times in Mount Vernon and part of the time at Cedar Rapids, where a daughter resided. In recent months she became extremely weak, requiring constant care. But in all her suffering she was not only uncomplaining, but ever deeply concerned for the comfort and welfare of her family. Even with all of her helplessness she was all of a mother, prompting the love and solicitation of her restricted circle and being missed deeply by them now that she has gone to quiet and rest.
Mrs. Finger was 66 years of age, born in the community of Sextonville, Wisconsin, where the remains were taken for the final rites and interment. Her husband had preceded her just a year. She is survived by six sons and two daughters.
