Historical Events Taken From the Amherst Bee During the Week of Nov. 15, 1883.
A large number of relatives and friends were grieved to learn of the death of Emanuel S. Good which occurred Tuesday, Sept, 8, 1908, at the General Hospital in Buffalo, after an illness of about ten days of typhoid fever. He suffered a severe illness in the spring from which he recovered enough to go about his work but he still felt the effects and in this weakened condition was not able to withstand so severe an attack of fever.
Emanuel S. Good was the eldest son of Peter Good and was born in the town of Clarence, Sept. 9, 1861. About 19 years ago he moved to the city of Buffalo where he lived until the time of his death. Six years ago he visited Michigan and bought a farm on which it was his intention to move in the coming spring.
Mr. Good was a member of Queen City Council, No. 259, Royal Arcanum, also retail dealers Union, No. 716.
He is survived by his wife Sarah (nee Metz), one son, Edson R., his mother, Mrs. Fanny Good, one brother, Dr. Norton Good, and three sisters, Mrs William D. Fisher of Buffalo, Mrs. Henry Wende of North Yakima, Wash., and Mrs. Charles Deal of Cleveland Ohio.
Emanuel S. Good was a man with many fine qualities. His ever cheerful and genial disposition gained for him the respect and love of his fellows in every circle in which he moved. The funeral was held Friday with burial at Harris Hill Cemetery.
