Found him on the 1900 Hackettstown, Warren, New Jersey census (dist 186 img 46) as William Finger age 46, cook. Came to the U.S. in 1873 and is naturalized.

William Henry Finger died Tuesday evening in Morristown Memorial Hospital, aged seventy-three years. Mr. Finger was born in Germany. He had been sick from stomach trouble at his home on Stiger street about two weeks and Tuesday afternoon was rushed to the Morristown hospital where he died soon after.

For forty-three years he was employed as chef at Centenary Collegiate Institute.

He is survived by the following children. Charles Finger of Warwick, N.Y., and Mrs. Joseph Smith of Hackettstown. Also two sisters residing in Toronto, Kansas. - The Hackettstown Gazette June 25, 1926
