Mrs. Laura Valk died on Monday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E. A. Joy, of a stroke of appoplexy. She had been in usual health until about 1 o'clock in the morning, when the family was aroused by her grandchild, who was sleeping with her. They found her unconscious and she remained in that state until she died, at about 12 o'clock. She was the widow of the late Moses Valk, and in her 80th year. Kingston Daily Freeman May 23, 1884
