John W. Blakesley, aged 85 years, died Sunday morning at his home in the town of Jerusalem, after a short illness. He is survived by two sons, Homer F. of Reeds Corners and Charles E. of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Dinehart, of Friend, Mrs. Charles Pratt, Geneva, and Mrs. James Connolly Phelps; 19 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at his late home on Wednesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Steverson of Potter officiating. Burial at Old Fort cemetery at Friend. - Geneva Daily Times April 15, 1940 page 3
