Found him on the 1910 Jerusalem, Yates, New York census (dist 176 img 16) age 55.

Found him on the 1920 Jerusalem, Yates, New York census (dist 177 img 17) age 65, farmer, married but living alone.

John W. Blakesley, aged 85 years, died Sunday morning at his home in the town of Jerusalem, after a short illness. He is survived by two sons, Homer F. of Reeds Corners and Charles E. of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Dinehart, of Friend, Mrs. Charles Pratt, Geneva, and Mrs. James Connolly Phelps; 19 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at his late home on Wednesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Steverson of Potter officiating. Burial at Old Fort cemetery at Friend. - Geneva Daily Times April 15, 1940 page 3
