Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Fingar and family who lost all their belongings in a fire at their Mt. Merino home recently, have taken up residence in an apartment at the home of his grandfather, Herbert Fingar. - Chatham Courier December 4, 1958
Marvin moved the family here to Birmingham, [Alabama] in the mid 60's I think. I'm not sure but I think they moved from the Rochester area. - Grandson Aaron Fingar.
Regarding the note above from Aaron Fingar, Marvin's sister, Elaine Fingar Porter reports that Marvin and his second wife, Eleanor Fox Fingar, lived in the family farmhouse in West Ghent, New York until he moved.
Found him on the 1930 Ghent, Columbia, New York census (dist 17 img 10) as a great grandson, living in the household of his g-grandfather, Jacob C. Fingar, along with his father Roscoe and grandfather Herbert S. Fingar.
Found him on the 1940 Ghent, Columbia, New York census (dist 11-20 img 17) as Marvin Finger age 11.
