Andrew Eugene Kittle, a former West Ghent resident, died on Monday at his home in Jersey City, where for several years he had been with the United States Express company. He was a man around 50 years of age, a widower, leaving two sons, Willis, who is in the navy, and Earl, of Claverack. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Henry F. Miller, of Rossman, and Mrs. Jacob Fingar, of West Ghent. - The Hudson Evening Register January 14, 1914
The remains of Eugene Kittle, son of the late William G. Kittle and Catharine Leggett, were brought from his home in New Jersey and buried from the home of his sister, Mrs. Jacob Fingar, West Ghent, last Friday afternoon. The deceased was a postal clerk on a car running from New York to Philadelphia. On the return trip of the previous Saturday he had a hemorrhage at his boarding place. He was removed to a hospital and died from the effects of hemorrhage on Monday. For many years he was in the Custom house. He had many friends and a large relation in West Ghent, where he spent his early manhood. He was a man of bright mind, as his postions of responsibility and trust will testify. His wife died several years ago, Two sons, Willis and Earle two sisters, Mrs. Henry S. Miller, of Rossman, and Mrs. Jacob Fingar, of West Ghent, and a number of cousins mourn his loss.
