Annie Belle M. Finger KANNAPOLIS - Annie Belle McKnight Finger, 98, died Sunday (Sept. 4, 2005) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Oct. 4, 1906 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late John Franklin and Elizabeth Rose McKnight of China Grove.
Annie Belle was a graduate of Rowan County Farm Life School, China Grove and Catawba College in Salisbury. She lived most of her life in Kannapolis and was married for 66 years to Dr. David Alton Finger, who died March 31, 1998. She occasionally assisted her husband in his practice of optometry, but most of her life was spent as a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of the Kannapolis Women 's Club, did voluntary organizational work for The Girl Scouts of America and was an active member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death was her granddaughter, Ann Michele Healey, and three sisters.
She is survived by three children, David A. Finger, Jr. and wife, Maxine, of Mooresville, Phyllis F. Healey and husband, Bill of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jon R. Finger, Sr. and wife, Lou, of Kannapolis, six grandchildren and nine great-grand children.
Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, Kannapolis with Rev. Richard Rhoades and Rev. Hoke Ritchie officiating. Burial: Carolina Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum. - Salisbury Post September 6, 2005
