Mr. Fred William Finger, 87, of Curran, MI, died Saturday, October 21st, 2006 at his home at Crooked Lake. Visitation Friday 4-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home and Funeral Services at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Mio, Michigan, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 28th, with Pastor Elizabeth Chace and Pastor Don Thomas officiating. Interment of Ashes at McCollum Lake Cemetery.
Fred was born on Sept. 28, 1919 in Saginaw, MI and graduated from Wayne State University. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Sgt. in WW II. He was a retired Certified Training Instructor at Western and Southern Life Insurance Company Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired in 1985 and moved to Crooked Lake in Curran, MI, wintering in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church Mio, Michigan. He enjoyed swimming, traveling and dancing. He will be remembered as as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. 'Everyone was his friend, and he never had a bad word to say about anybody'.
Surviving are wife Patricia Louise (Hamann) Finger Sons: Dale (Kathy) Finger Steve Finger and Jeff (Renie) Finger all of Cincinnati, Ohio Step Sons: Kim (Barb) Wright Todd (Leslie) Wright both of Mio, MI and Kris Wright of Taylor, MI He is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Dan and Greg Finger and 6 step-grandchildren: Josh, Mat, Alix, Chad, Corey and Pat Wright, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents: Frederick & Bertha Finger, his first wife Jean Finger, son Bill Finger, step-grandson Jason Wright and sister Harriet Kelsch.
