Found him on the 1880 Orange, Schuyler, New York census (dist 150 img 20) as
Orson Potter age 28, farmer. He and his family are living in the household of his parents
Stokes Potter age 67, farmer and
Betsy Potter age 61.
Found him on the 1900 Orange, Schuyler, New York census (dist 52 img 17) as
Orson O. Potter age 48, carpenter.
Found him on the 1910 Orange, Schuyler, New York census (dist 63 img 21) as
Orson O. Potter age 58, mechanic, wagon maker.
Confined to his bed for the past 17 years, the last six of which were in a Bath hospital, Orson O. Potter died there Sunday night at 10:20 o'clock at the age of 84 years.
Mr. Potter has two sons and a daughter in Corning, Charles and Arthur Potter, who operate a garage at 93 West William street.
Born in Monterey, February 8, 1852, the son of Stokes and Betsy Bishop Potter, he spent most of his life in Monterey and vicinity, where he was a carpenter and carriage maker. By his ability and integrity he gained the respect and friendship of the entire community.
Mr. Potter is survived by the following: Charles and Arthur Potter, Corning five daughters, Mrs. E. H. Bissell, Watkins Mrs. Lee Scott, Hornell Mrs. George Van Gelder, Jamestown Mrs. Arthur Jacobs, Corning Mrs. Lloyd Dennis, Monterey a brother, Fred H. Potter, Rahway, N.J. and seven grandchildren. The body will be removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Dennis, Mead's Creek Road, Monterey, where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Belmont Cemetery. The Evening Leader January 18, 1937
