Joseph G. Magee, 58, died suddenly at his home, 126 Main street, Penn Yan, at 4 a. m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1952, victim of a beart attack. He had been in the restaurant business in Penn Yan for the past 40 years and at the time of his death was associated with Allen's lunchroom on Elm street. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Kennish Magee; a son, Joseph Magee, jr., and a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Finger, all of 126 Main street; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Gurnett of Caledonia, Mrs. George Wood of Sheppard street, Penn Yan; several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Reilly Funeral home on Main street where friends may call from 3 to 5, 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be from the funeral home at 8:30 a. m. Friday and from St. Michael's Catholic church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Michael's cemetery. The Johnson-Costello post, American Legion, of which Mr. Magee was a member, will conduct military rites. - Chronicle-Express, Penn Yan N.Y. September 18, 1952
