Found him on the 1920 Ancram, Columbia, New York census (dist 1 img 11) as
Dewitt Tripp age 15.
Saturday afternoon the Ancram Fire company responded to a call for aid from Ancramdale where fire completely destroyed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Tripp of that village and threatened to destroy nearby farm buildings. The alarm was received by the local company at approximately 4:20 p.m. and upon arrival at the scene, the fire had made quite a headway but as there was no water supply the firemen were unable to put into operation, efforts were to save the
nearby barn and other buildings and at various times, fires in several parts of the buildings were quickly extinguished.
Members of the Copake Fire Department arrived at the scene later and stood watch for sparks of fire in the barn buildings while the local company operated their carnival Saturday evening. Following the conclusion of the carnival, the local company relieved Copake of the "watch" and stoodby the remainder of the night. It is reported that Mr. and Mrs. Tripp and their family were able to save very little from their home and the contents were completely destroyed.
