Glyndon J. Finger, 95, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 14, 1913, in the Township of Maple Creek, son of the late Marvin and Margaret (Olk) Finger. On July 22, 1972, he married Dorothy (Sawall) Beyer at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.
Glyndon lived and farmed in Maple Creek all of his life, he also worked at FWD in Clintonville and Simmons in New London until his retirement. Glyndon loved playing the saxophone and other instruments in the Clifford Finger Trio for over 50 years. He loved to polka and being in his garden, and he also loved a good joke. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy, the love of his life for 36 years; step-daughters: Judy Schertz, Appleton, and Carol "Peachy" Wegner, New London; stepsons: Gary (Barbara) Beyer, Bear Creek and Dale Beyer, Appleton; 11 stepgrandchildren and many stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren; brother, Lyman Finger, Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sisters-in-law: Betty Finger and Shirley Schwan; a brother-in-law Wayne "Weiner" Sawall. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn and Margaret; and two brothers, Clifford and Marion; a stepdaughter Yvonne Fielding; and three stepgrandchildren.
