Found him on the 1940 New York, Kings, New York census (dist 24-259A img 10) as William Becker age 7. Address: 1176 East 29th Street.

Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Brown of 301 North Broadway, Blarichester, Ohio, announce the betrothal of their daughter, Miss Vera Leline Brown, to William Curtis Becker, son of Dr. and Mrs. DeForest Becker of 1176 E. 29th St. Miss Brown was graduated from Blanchester High School, Ohio, and attended Wilmington College, Wilmington, Ohio. She is employed by her father as an accountant. Mr. Becker was graduated from Midwood High School and will be graduated from Wilmington College on May 31. He will teach in the Glendaie High School, Glendale, Ohio, in the Fall. The wedding will take place early in August. - Brooklyn Daily Eagle May 15, 1954

Brooklyn, NY - Bill Becker passed away on November 28, 2020. Born February 23, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Dr. DeForest and Gladys E. Fingar Becker, he was predeceased by his parents and his brother, DeForest (Woody) Becker, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vera L. Brown Becker; daughter Cynthia and her husband Ken Tredinnick of Anderson, SC; and son Jeffrey and his wife Shelly Rees Becker of Bridport, VT. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Bill graduated from Wilmington College in Ohio and started his career as a history teacher at Glendale High School in 1954. Following a sixteen year career as educator, Bill took a position as the travel director for the NEA, eventually culminating his career by starting his own incentive travel business before retiring in South Daytona Beach Shores.

In retirement, Bill had a wide array of friends including fellow members of the Westminster-by-the-Sea Presbyterian Church and buddies in his daily breakfast club of 20 years. An avid card player, Bill played bridge weekly and occasionally enjoyed a good hand of poker. He was also involved in the Antique Automobile Club with his distinctive Allison '53' MG TD that became a mainstay in local car shows, and parades.
