Found him on the 1920 Gallatin, Columbia, New York census (dist 16 img 9) as
Chester A. Lyle age 19, farm laborer, home farm.
Chester A. Lyle Sr., 81, died Monday, December 27, at Sharon Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Lyle had owned and operated a dairy farm on Silver Mountain in the Town of North East since 1939.
A resident of Silver Mountain Road since 1928, he formerly lived in Sharon. He retired from dairy farming 15 years ago. He was a former member of the Millerton Grange and a member of the Dutch Reformed Church in Gallatin.
Born November 18, 1901, in Mount Ross, he was the son of Herman and Cora Finger Lyle. He was married to the former Nellie E. Miller. She died in 1972. Survivors include two sons, Chester A. Lyle Jr. and Glen A. Lyle, both of Millerton nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, December 30, at the Valentine Funeral Home, Millerton, with Rev. Paul Rhebergen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millerton Ambulance Fund. The Harlem Valley Times December 30, 1982 page 3
