Mr. James Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Carrie Shoemaker, both of Penn Yan, were married Wednesday, August 25, 1920, at two o'clock in the afternoon, at St. Mark's Episcopal church, Rev. Paul Hoffman, the rector, performing the ceremony. Miss Bertha M. Habberfield was bridesmaid and Mr. Warner Bush groomsman. The bride wore a gown of blue material, black hat, and carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaid's gown was brown she also wore a black hat and carried a shower bouquet. The bride and groom left on a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto. They will be at home after October 1st at 307 Court street. A pre-nuptianl event in honor of the bride was a luncheon at Alley's Inn given by Miss Bessie Campbell and Miss Habberfield. The bride is the manager of the Postal telegraph office in Penn Yan, and is a young woman with a host of friends. Pen Yann Democrat August 27, 1920
PENN YAN - Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Kirkpatrick, 72 of 113 Burns Ter., who died Saturday while on a vacation trip in Providence, R. I. will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Mark's Epispocal Church with William Kirkpatrick officiating. Born in Manchester, N. H. the daughter of Fred and Carrie Pepper Copson, she has lived in Penn Yan for the past 50 years. She formerly served at the Postal Telegraph Co. as an operator in Penn Yan. She was also employed at the Angler and Penn Yan Boat Companies.
Besides her husband, James, she is survived by two brothers, Donald Copson of Newcastle, Pa., and Arthur Copson of Oswego two sisters, Mrs. William Disbrow of Bluff Point and Mrs. Cornelius McNulty of Painted Post several nieces and nephews.
