Frederick R. Finger was born in Pennyan, New York, September 10, 1867 and departed this life January 13, 1943 at the residence, 410 Court street, Charlotte.
He was the son of David, Jr., and Mary L. Finger. He was married in Pennyan, New York, on November 12, 1890 to Bessie Sprague and to this union were born three sons.
In 1914 he was married to Katherine Haywood at Grand Lodge, to this union was born one son.
June 31, 1929 he was married to Rose Glover at Charlotte.
He was an active member of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows of Charlotte.
Surviving are the wife and two sons; Harry, of the Michigan Soldiers Home, Grand Rapids; Gordon of the U.S. Army; three step children; Cecie Mead and George Glover of Flint and June Aseltine of Charlotte; several grand children, besides a host of friends and other relatives.
The funeral services were held at the Myron E. Pray funeral home in Charlotte, Saturday, January 16, 1943 at two o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. R. J. Field of the First Baptist church officiated and interment was made at Maple Hill cemetery. - Charlotte Republican-Tribune January 22, 1943
