Pam Marie Finger and Gary Walter Shelhamer, both of Cortland, were married Saturday, June 26, in the James St. Methodist Church at Kingston, the Rev. Pershing Hooter and the Rev. Harry Robinson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard R. Finger of Hurley Heights, Hurley.
Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shelhamer of Baldwinsville.
Maid of honor was Denna R. Joy. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lee Northrup, Miss Bev Wood and Miss Gail Shelhamer. John Piazza was best man. Gary Vleck, Alan Finger, Ralph Lapidus and John Spallone ushered the guests. Raymond and Douglas Finger, the bride's nephews, were acolytes.
A reception was held in the church's Wesley Room.
The new Mrs. Shelhamer was graduated from Kingston High School and SUNY at Cortland where she majored in French and elementary education. Her Junior year was spent studying French at the University of Neuchatel in Switzerland. She teaches kindergarten at DeRuyter Central School and is seeking her master's degree in education at SUNY, Cortland.
Shelhamer, a graduate of Baldwinsville School and SUNY at Oswego, majored in industrial arts, later earning his MEd in industrial arts at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He is department chairman and industrial arts teacher at Dryden Junior Senior High School. They are residing in Cortland following a honeymoon trip to Massachusetts and Colorado. - The MESSENGER July 7, 1976 page 15.
