The death and burial test week of George W. Coons followed a long sickness at his home in the Gulick district, north of North Cohocton, where most of his life of nearly 70 years had been passed. Mr. Coons was a successful farmer and he is survived
by his wife, Ida Wilbur Coons, one brother, John P. Coons, and one sister, Mrs. J. V. Wood, both of South Bristol. Rev. William Partington, of Naples Methodist church, officiated at the funeral, with burial in Rose Ridge cemetery. - The Steuben Courier December 9, 1927
