'Bobby' was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School and was attending Ouachita College when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942. His hobby while in high school was constructing model airplanes, with which he won several state competitions. His love for aviation was the reason he chose to serve his country as a pilot in combat duty on a Liberator Bomber. He was a member of the 454th Bomb Group as well as AAA Western Flying Command and his tours of duty took him to Italy, France, Germany and the Balkans. By the time of his discharge in 1945, he had attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Upon his return, Bobby hitch-hiked his way to Louisiana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
In 1949, 'Bob' gained employment at Louisiana Power and Light, Co. in the Riverlake district. It was here that he met his wife of 54 years, Audrey Seeling of New Orleans.
Bob was transferred to the Amite district of L.P.&L. and he became a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and the Amite Lions where he served as president for the 1960-61 term. He was transferred to the Algiers district where he would work until his retirement.
He was a passionate fisherman and avid hunter who enjoyed square dancing and growing his own vegetables. He was a member of the Terrytown Grand Squares and the Sunrise Sundowners Square Dance Group. - Obituary
